For July we have not one… not two… but THREE WOM selections. In the spirit of Independence Day we have selected a Red, White, AND Rosé! (Yes, they make blue wine, but you will be thankful we did not choose it!)

2014 Neyers, Vista Luna Borden Ranch Zinfandel
Napa Valley, California
91 Points, Wine Spectator: “Balances power with a touch of elegance, offering aromas of boysenberry and licorice and layered flavors of smoky plum, mineral and white pepper. Drink now through 2024.”

WOM Price: $22.49
93 Point, South African White…Under $20!!
2014 Keermont, Terrasse White
Stellenbosch, South Africa
93 Points, The Wine Advocate: “Keermont’s 2014 White Blend Terrasse is 65% Chenin Blanc, 13% Chardonnay, 17% Sauvignon Blanc and 5% Viognier, fermented in French oak barrels and matured for 12 months on the lees, with a small part in stainless steel. Here we have a different set of aromatics to the 2010 and 2011. It is more tensile than I recollect previous vintages at this stage – orange blossom, touch of tangerine and honeysuckle. The palate is class, pure class. Winemaker Alex Starey has nailed the acidity here and imparted wonderful tension and poise. This is one of the purest “Terrasse” that I have encountered at this earlier stage and it will be a job to see how this develops in bottle.”

“Very pale pink robe with highlights. A floral nose with aromas of rose, white flowers (peach tree, apricot tree) and a touch of citrus. On the mouth, this wine is pleasingly well balanced, mouth-filling and lively, with notes of citrus fruit and a hint of menthol and a delicious finish.”
