For over four generations, the Catena family has grown vines in the foothills of the Andes Mountains. This week’s W.O.W. is a highly rated Chardonnay from Argentina that combines the unique expressions of three of their high altitude vineyard sites. The resulting wine is balanced, fresh and clean.
2014 Catena, Chardonnay
92 Points, The Wine Advocate: “The nose is subtly oaked with white fruit and floral aromas. The palate is medium-bodied and has very nice acidity which makes the wine not only fresher, but also longer and more mineral. This is the freshest of all the vintages of this Chardonnay, and the change in vineyards is really noticeable. Super!”
Perfect for a warm night out on the deck. Great when paired with your favorite seafood… even a rich dish like shrimp and grits.
