2013 D’Angelo, Aglianico del Vulture

2013 D’Angelo, Aglianico del Vulture

91 Points, Vinous: “Deep ruby-red. Fresh, fruity aromas and flavors of blueberry, candied violet and tar have a bright, focused quality. Long and juicy on the smooth finish, which features repeating violet nuances. A lovely Aglianico that is ready to drink now but can age.

90 Points, Wine Spectator: “Ripe black raspberry and mulberry fruit is set in the balanced, medium-bodied frame of this fresh red, with savory accents of smoke, spice, wild herb and forest floor lingering on the firm finish. Drink now through 2023.”

This is a textbook example of Aglianico that is great on its own and delicious when paired with a wide variety of foods including grilled and roasted lamb.
