2011 La Lecciaia Rosso di Montalcino
Rosso di Montalcino is made from Sangiovese; the same grape used to produce one of Italy’s best DOCG wines, Brunello di Montalcino. A minimum of one year of aging is required for Rosso di Montalcino. La Lecciaia Rosso di Montalcino is aged for two years before it’s released.
90 Points, Vinous: “Bright red. Penetrating ink and flint nuances complicate bright red cherry, strawberry and violet aromas on the enticing nose. Bright and fresh in the mouth, with creamy, floral red and dark cherry flavors and a persistent spiciness. A perfumed mineral tang repeats at the back. Very refined Rosso di Montalcino with sneaky concentration and lovely purity of fruit. ”
