2012 Montesco Passionate Wine, Parral Red
90 Points, Wine Advocate: “The 2012 Montesco Parral is a co-fermented blend of fruit from old pergola vines. A blend of 40% Malbec, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Bonarda, trying to rescue the wines of yesteryear, where the older generation planted pergolas to protect the grapes from the sun (these were planted in 1970-71 in Tupungato). It was aged in used barriques, displays a dark purple color, and feels a bit rustic, savage and wild, with notes of tree bark, mint, high acidity and tannins that show fresh and clean. This should age very well. Drink 2014 through 2020.”
Winemaker, Matias Michelini dedicates this wine to all those who enjoy wine with passion in a special way. At this price the Montesco Parral is sure to be your house red for the holidays.
