Gerry is a local retired Army Colonel who began making bird houses as a hobby in 2007.  He started making them and giving them as gifts to his friends and family. A hobby soon became a small business.

 

The birdhouses are made from discarded wine shipping boxes.  The wood is solid as opposed to plywood which would deteriorate when placed outside.  To protect them, he uses three coats of clear seal to shield them from the weather.

 

The houses are unique since no two are alike. They are designed to house small song birds such as Carolina Wrens, Black Capped Chickadees, Downey Wood Peckers and Nuthatches.
