We are big fans of Côtes du Rhône wines and pleased to offer as this week’s W.O.W. one from legendary wine importer Kermit Lynch. His philosophy, that wines should be “flawless, well-made, with character and sense of place, enjoyable to drink at table, providing pleasure (the deliciousness factor)”, is the same whether he is seeking out a great value Côtes du Rhône or a high-end grand cru Burgundy.
2014 Kermit Lynch, Côtes du Rhône
Rhone Valley, France
This little beauty from the southern Rhone Valley is made in the classic style and exactly what we expect from the region. It gets its fresh strawberry and raspberry flavors from Grenache while the Syrah adds blackberry fruit with a hint of black pepper. Medium bodied, fresh acidity, smooth tannins and extremely food friendly. Enjoy with pizza or your favorite meats hot off the grill. Yes, this is the perfect everyday red.
