This week’s W.O.W. is a scary good Zinfandel that’s just in time for Halloween. Winemakers Steve and Bruce Cousins say, “While we make seriously great wine, we are not afraid to have a good time. That’s why we produce PoiZin, The Wine to Die for”
2014 Armida, PoiZin Zinfandel
“A lush, delicious and “serious” wine but in a fun package! The nose is fruit driven with fresh plum, bing cherry, spicy peppercorn and zinberry. The mouthfeel is soft with a hint of milk chocolate, sweet oak, and a long vanilla finish. The deep color and firm structure are enhanced by the addition of the Petite Sirah and the firm tannins softened by moderate oak. Enjoy this POIZIN with caution; it is The Wine to Die for!”
Perfect when paired with eye of newt and toe of frog or equally as good with steaks, lamb and ribs. Treat yourself to a bottle or two!
