This week’s W.O.W. is a highly rated, full-bodied Malbec that’s perfect for pairing up with a hardy pot roast beef or sipping on a cold, wintery night. Achaval Ferrer is often regarded as the benchmark of Argentina Malbecs and the wine team is pleased to offer up this lush and complex wine at a very attractive price.
2014 Achaval Ferrer, Malbec
91 Points, The Wine Advocate: “The nose of the 2014 Malbec is remarkably similar to the 2013 showing high-pitched aromas of wild berries and flowers. It’s in the palate where you find a little more savoriness, perhaps more spicy flavors with a slightly bitter finish. It’s a blend of grapes from different locations across Mendoza that represent very well the Achával-Ferrer interpretation of Malbec.”
